Over the last couple weeks I've been exploring the countryside close to Auckland. The pohutakawa trees have pretty much given up flowering for the year but they still look awesome. The older trees have such an interesting structure they make a really cool subject to photograph. Everyone's photographed the red flowers (and they make such a mess haha) so Ive been trying to come up with some new concepts for a series. With the right silhouettes and shadows and the sun burnt grass this is my favourite so far.
