Recently I shot a couple of portraits for an exhibition Korero Pono. The exhibition just opened this week at the Potocki Paterson gallery in Wellington and runs for the next 10 days.
The exhibition is a multimedia showcase aimed at creating discussion around the effects of criminal incarceration on individuals and their families. Artists were given the written or verbal stories of kiwis who have been imprisoned within New Zealand’s justice system and asked to create work around this.
I spent some time with Liam McDonald and Don Henry and this is what I came up with based on their stories. Its truly inspiring to see how with a little time and work people can change their lives so much
